Very Important NEWS
from the Texas Private Security Board

When the 2003 legislature cut manpower at TPSB from 46 to 14, we knew the pendulum would swing back sooner or later.  But no one envisioned it would swing this far.

Licensing Division: presently staffed by 6 to 8 employees attempting to monthly process tens of thousands of license renewals, new applications, etc. will be supplemented with an additional 20 data entry personnel
Pro: the backlog should go away very soon, and pocket cards should flow again.
Con: they are going to have time to take a really close look at renewal applications, verify training, etc.

Investigation Division: recently increased from 3 to 4, is gaining 25 D.P.S. Troopers and 4 Lieutenants - YOU READ IT CORRECTLY - a total of 29 D.P.S. State Troopers (complete with black & white scout cars), in addition to the existing 4 investigators.  That's a total of 33 enforcement officers, statewide, in an agency that never had over 10.
Pro: current backlog of investigations should get wrapped up in record time, and unlicensed companies, expired companies, and companies with unlicensed employees should get caught and prosecuted / fined / suspended very soon.
Con: your company might be one prosecuted, if your house is not in order.

Dispatch Center pledges to bring you the news that affects your business and industry and strongly encourages you to go to our LINKS page or click here to get to TPSB's site and check out your own company.  Make sure your license is in good standing and that all of your current employees are active and up to date.  Call J.D. if you have any questions.

This would also be a great time to join, and attend, your Local and State Association. Don't let someone else decide major industry issues. We need the best, and that's why Dispatch Center will pay for your TBFAA membership. click here for more
